Whether you need complete or partial dentures, our dentist at Heritage Hill Dental Care will help you get your smile back on track.

Denture Advantage

Why is a healthy, strong set of dentures important? They stand in for missing teeth. Teeth not only help us bite and chew our food so that it can be easily swallowed; they also help us form words and speak properly.

Our team wants every patient to have the advantage of a functioning set of teeth and dentures make that possible. Complete and partial dentures offer benefits aplenty:

  • Cavity-free
  • Low-maintenance
  • Easy to clean
  • Durable

Partial Dentures

Are you missing only a few teeth? Partial dentures might be the best solution for you. Partial dentures are used when your upper or lower jaw still has one or two natural teeth.

If you choose partial dentures, replacement teeth will be molded and attached to a gum-coloured plastic base; the base is usually connected to a metal framework that holds the dentures in place. We replace each missing tooth by placing a crown on surrounding teeth and attaching the artificial tooth to these crowns & a bridge is cemented into place to fill the space.

If you want something less permanent, precision partial dentures are an option. Precision dentures have internal attachments that attach to adjacent crowns to make them removable and more natural-looking.

Complete Dentures

You can choose from two types of complete dentures: conventional and immediate. Conventional dentures are created after all teeth are removed and the gum tissue heals. They are ready to be placed in your mouth 10 weeks after teeth removal.

If you don’t want to wait for new “teeth,” immediate dentures might be a better option for you. Made in advance, immediate dentures can be placed in your mouth immediately following tooth removal. Although immediacy is an advantage, these dentures also come with complications: bones and gums shrink after tooth removal, and immediate dentures will have to be adjusted regularly to fit properly. In the long run, conventional dentures should be a permanent solution to temporary dentures.
